"MR. NITRO" story!

He was a young "BOTTON END DIVER" working on a famous Nostalgia Top Fueler from the 60's. Pullin' pistons between rounds, and just gettin' dirty, because he loved it! On his 18th birthday he got the chance to drive the long, spindly rail job. So he straps in with anticipation of a wild ride. He does the burnout and stages. On the flash of the last yellow light, he stabs the loud pedal and he's off. Everything seems to be in slow motion,. He looks over and the competition is just a few feet behind him. As he concentrates on the finish line, at about the 1000 foot mark, the fuel system leans out and burns a piston. Then two connecting rod break sending a couple pistons out the right side of the 392 HEMI oiling him in. This sends hot, milky, white fluid all over his helmet and goggles. Then the red hot headers lite the oil & nitro mixture into a huge ball of fire. He hits the chute lever, trying to keep the dragster off the wall and in his own lane. It`s sliding around the track like it`s on ice. The chute opens and straightens the car out. As he brings the rail to a stop, its now totally engulfed in flames and thick black smoke. As he gets it stopped, there is no signs of the young first time driver. Is he okay? Is he dead? It looks like no one could survive a fire like this one. Miraculousley, out from the flames and smoke stumbles "MR. NITRO" as he would soon become known as. After recovering, the fire had left him with only half a face! He was hooked though! Now if you ever stage up against the young man they call "MR. NITRO", Watch out. He'll race you with one eye closed and when he beats you to the finish line, He'll celebrate with a hit off the nitro barrel. When you see him in the pits gettin' the car ready, he doesn`t use a Hydromiter to mix the fuel. He just tastes it to 98%!
